Workshops

The Better Approach Coaching Service conducts full day workshops for groups up to 20. For more participants, we offer consecutive multi-day sessions. As a team, we provide intensive and interactive sessions designed to engage people and stimulate critical thinking skills. We can also divide our time to provide one-to-one breakout sessions concurrent to a group session.

All workshops include Situational Analysis prior to the session. This homework results in more informed and productive group work, and provides insight into each participant's individual perspective.

An Executive Summary and Recommendation Report follow each session. We provide the foundation so that you can build an action plan for implementing improvements. Or, we can work with you to create an action plan. In addition, we can provide customized evaluations for your specific situation for optimal problem solving.

Team-Building

More of today's workflow depends upon teams to meet objectives and deadlines. This workshop is designed to transform a group of individuals into a cohesive, creative, and collaborative team or task force. Effective, time-efficient teams are essential and can mean the difference between success and failure. Whether it's an executive team, managers, or staff, from two to 20 people, our workshop will improve processes such as business strategy change recommendations and deliverables.

We also provide leadership coaching to cultivate a culture of teamwork for your business organization. If management understands exactly how to define expectations and encourage teams, and puts a plan of action into effect, then results will be far more satisfying.

Improving Communications

Small businesses and large enterprises depend upon clear communication among all stakeholders. Whether it's five employees or 5,000, communication can make or break an organization's productivity and ultimate success. This workshop shares tools for creating clear and concise communication between individuals, teams, and departments to improve productivity and achieve effective time management.

At The Better Approach Coaching Service, we address how every individual has personal dynamics and how people interacting with one another create interpersonal dynamics. We explain how to identify and leverage these dynamics to fully understand and successfully communicate core ideas of information. We examine how to distinguish salient ideas from cluttered detail, and how each situation can call for different communication methods. We also address how to use communication in time management as a decisive tool for advancing discussions in a timely manner (time is precious).

Time Management

Everyone knows that time is money in any organization. Today's world demands more results and more multi-tasking to achieve those results. Often workload increases without a proportionate increase in staff or management. Time management and the ability to prioritize become more critical. This workshop addresses how personal, team, and organizational time management can significantly improve daily productivity while reducing stress and increasing job satisfaction.

In our approach to business and personal coaching we address how to develop the self discipline to accurately estimate time for a given task and prioritize that task in an environment with multiple projects and deadlines. Key staff learn to align project management skills with personal skills, and managers learn how to delegate for optimal time efficiency and orchestrate multiple project timelines.

We also offer coaching specific to improving the time management and productivity of group meetings, from board meetings and executive team meetings, to managers and team meetings. We provide tools for developing concise agendas, staying on task, creatively brainstorming when appropriate, and focusing on clear goals. Time can be a bridge rather than a barrier to satisfying outcomes from meetings.

Emotional Intelligence

Increasing an individual’s Emotional Intelligence can provide benefits for the entire business organization. Increasing the management team’s Emotional Intelligence can multiply those benefits exponentially.

The Better Approach Coaching Service offers workshops to increase the emotional intelligence of a team, whether the top management team or a department team. Having all members of a team speak the same language and share a common perspective enhance their effectiveness, leadership performance and productivity enormously.

Diversity

Diversity is often seen as a requirement imposed from outside sources, most often the government. However, diversity can be a resource to any corporation, helping provide access to additional markets and helping to improve the quality of products and services.

Almost all some companies already contain some diversity, which they may not be tapping at the present time.

The Better Approach Coaching Service conducts workshops and assessments on how to recognize and utilize a company’s current diversity assets such as diverse leadership styles and effective leadership practices and how to increase them.

Customer Service

All organizations want to provide good customer service. It is easier to keep a customer than it is to secure a new one.  However, when confronted by an unhappy customer we often become defensive and explain why we acted a certain way. We often forget to listen to the customer and to try to resolve the complaint to the customer’s satisfaction. 

In this workshop one learns how to determine what the complaint is, what resolution the customer seeks, and how to resolve the matter to the customer’s and the organization’s satisfaction.
